Focus and Scope
KASALIA: Jurnal Kesehatan Masyarakat is a peer-reviewed scientific journal focusing on the development and application of public health science to improve population health and address public health challenges. The journal publishes original research articles, systematic reviews, and case studies that contribute to the prevention of disease, health promotion, improvement of health services, and development of evidence-based public health policies and interventions.
The scope of KASALIA: Jurnal Kesehatan Masyarakat includes:
1. Epidemiology and Biostatistics – epidemiological studies, disease distribution and determinants, surveillance, population health indicators, and the application of biostatistical methods in public health.
2. Health Policy and Administration – health policy, health systems, health service management, health financing, program evaluation, and health service quality from a public health perspective.
3. Public Health Nutrition – nutritional problems at the individual, family, and population levels, nutritional epidemiology, community nutrition interventions, food and nutrition programs, food security, and nutrition policy.
4. Environmental and Occupational Health – environmental risk factors, sanitation, water and air quality, waste management, occupational health and safety, and their impacts on population health.
5. Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences – health behavior, health education, health literacy, community empowerment, behavioral interventions, and communication for health promotion.
6. Reproductive, Maternal, and Child Health – reproductive health, maternal and child health, adolescent health, family planning, and population-based interventions to improve reproductive, maternal, and child health outcomes.
7. Communicable and Non-Communicable Disease Prevention and Control – prevention, risk factors, surveillance, community-based interventions, and public health strategies for controlling communicable and non-communicable diseases.
8. Community Health and Public Health Innovation – community-based health programs, implementation and evaluation of public health interventions, digital and technological innovations in public health, and evidence-based approaches to emerging public health challenges.
KASALIA: Jurnal Kesehatan Masyarakat welcomes manuscripts that demonstrate a clear relevance to public health, population health, disease prevention, health promotion, community-based interventions, health systems, or public health policy. Clinical or laboratory-based studies may be considered when they demonstrate explicit implications for public health practice, programs, or policy.
KASALIA is published three times a year, in January, May, and September, and applies a rigorous peer-review process to maintain the scientific quality, relevance, and originality of published articles.
